The Resistance Will Not Be Extirpated! The Ecology Of The Struggle In The ZAD, Palestine And Beyond

As many of you are probably aware, the government of Emmanuel Macron- with one hand dripping with teargas, the other reaching for a flash-bomb grenade in its holster- is preparing, along with the Tory government of the UK and Donald Trump, are preparing to attack Syria over an alleged chemical weapons attack. Many are saying that an attack may very well result in an end to human life on this planet.
But it may easily not. Perhaps our overlords won't get cold feet, but will Russia really risk itself for another country? Will China, which has no interests on either side of the conflict allow the Abrahamic powers to end civilisation? Would Trump, crazy as he is, permit a nuclear attack on a European country?

The point is not to reassure any of us. It is rather the opposite. Another scenario like this will come along, maybe in the next few months. Is not climate change guaranteed to have the same result in the long run? The end of the capitalist world is nigh- nobody can deny it.

But, as the fighters of the ZAD have reminded us so eloquently, "Another End Of The World Is Possible!" This slogan is in fact clearer than the old alter-globalisation slogan "Another World Is Possible." For who can deny now that capitalism and its symptoms must be wiped away for us to have a future?

In ecology, the term "extirpation" is used to describe the local extinction of a species. This is usually carried out by limiting the contiguous area of a creature's habitat. But humans struggling for a better future- indeed, a future at all, face this every day.

It has been a deliberate policy of the "Israeli" government to prevent the formation of an ethnically and physically contiguous area of Palestinians. According to a report from Berkley Law School, 100% of Gaza residents have been exposed to teargas, in the way trees might be destroyed by diggers in, let's say, the Hambach Forest.

It is the goal of all capitalist politicians to extirpate the physical and moral hope of another world. From Afrin to #NoDAPL to the liberated zones in Athens, a consistent policy is applied.

Is there any wonder why the tactics of the CRS against the ZAD are increasingly resembling those of the IDF? Targeting journalists, using tanks, and an endless supply of teargas- all of these methods are common not just to the IDF and Gaza, but also the streets of Black America, the streets of Hamburg during the G20, going back as far as the Battle of Seattle in 1999.

Ecologists also use the term "rewilding" to indicate a deliberate policy of reintroducing species to save their lives.

In their 2017 pamphlet, the Invisible Committee noted that any government that attempted an attack on the ZAD would inflame public opinion to the extent a revolution could start.

In other words, the minds of the public would be "rewilded."

With the Sword of Damocles hanging over the ZAD and the world it represents, the overlords- not, in fact, "our" overlords- will be sorry they ever attempted to put an end to the resistance of the people.

Let the rewilding extend across the world!
From the ZAD to the streets of every capital city!
Solidarity with the occupations!
Another End of the World IS Possible!
